LIOF MUNIMULA –  4 Cassette Releases

LIOF MUNIMULA – Milk of Burgundy, April 1993. Photo by Marc PoKempner

On September 3, 2026, I am releasing this archival material of recordings made live, in concert, between 1983 and 1989 by LIOF MUNIMULA. Daniel Scanlan died in 2018 and just recently, Don Meckley died in May of 2026. LIOF MUNIMULA played together for fifteen years, from 1982 -1997, and was a foundational musical experience for me, made all the more rich because of Don’s array of invented instruments and shortwave radio mastery, and Daniel’s all-or-nothing intensity that pushed the music to higher places.

In 1989, we released a 4-cassette box set of recordings of the group between 1983 – 1989. I have unearthed a handful of these original cassettes and offer them here for sale. I have also remastered the music on these cassette for digital release.
