NEW BAND ALERT!! PUZZLE HOUSE – FEBRUARY 2025 RESIDENCY – HUNGRY BRAIN – CHICAGO

PUZZLE HOUSE is a new band by Michael Zerang featuring guitarist Bill MacKay, saxophonist Azita Youssefi, bassist Mary Halm and drummer Zerang brought together to play Zerang’s instrumental tunes. All Chicago stalwarts, the group will hold an exploratory residency every Thursday night in February 2025 at the Hungry Brain – 2319 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60618.

Born of her Eastern Kentucky roots and filtered through the sidewalks of Chicago, Jane Baxter Miller first made waves in the Chicago scene in the mid 1990’s with her folk/country duo Texas Rubies. They released one album,Working Girl Blues, and contributed a track penned by Jane, She is joined by bassist Kent Kessler, who records and tours the world with Peter Brotzmann Chicago Tentet, Vandermark Five,  and DKV Trio and is a pioneer in the Chicago free jazz scene. http://www.janebaxtermiller.com
