Ode to the Living Tree and the Conference of Birds

Ode to the Living Tree and the Conference of Birds is a dance between improvisation and composition, containing a solo and a trio presented back-to-back with a “fold” in the middle. Dancers and a musician drift between presence and remembering, exploring branching compositions and transposing sound into movement.

We have made this performance with a handful of amazing artist friends and collaborators: Zach Nicol, Jessica Ray and Bryan Saner (as well as Elise Cowin) all created movement and dance in this piece. Michael Zerang will be making live sound. Christine Shallenberg has done both lighting and costumes.
