Recording Studio Uses And Abuses For Performing Artists

The Experimental Sound Studio Presents….

RECORDING STUDIO USES AND ABUSES FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS
conducted by Michael Zerang

This workshop is open to choreographers, performance artists, theater artists, and any other performing artists that use recorded sound in their work. We will demystify the process by which sound is recorded, manipulated, and processed, and explore various approaches for its use in a broader performance context.

Participants will explore the basic creative use of the recording studio as an instrument in the composing process, discover the potential of sound as a physical object in space, and shape recorded materials to work with broader concepts of performance.
